With the Windows Accounts authentication method selected all user credentials will be passed to the operating system for authentication.
If Elektron is installed on an Active Directory server, then accounts in the Active Directory will be used to authenticate users. If installed on a non-Active Directory server, then the operating systems accounts will be used. In either case, login hours and the account enabled/disabled flag will be honored when authenticating users.
