Elektron includes the tools system administrators need to secure their Wi-Fi networks. Active Directory and Open Directory support extends your existing authentication infrastructure to your WLAN, policy management allows you to configure when and from where your users may connect, and support for standard RADIUS protocols extends the reach of Elektron to non-Wi-Fi devices like firewalls and VPN concentrators.

Legacy RADIUS Integration

If your network includes a legacy RADIUS server that lacks support for Wi-Fi protocols like PEAP and EAP-TTLS, Elektron can provide a front end to your server. Wi-Fi access points connect to Elektron, which unmarshals the Wi-Fi request and forward the inner username and password to the legacy RADIUS server, relaying the server's response to the access point via the PEAP or EAP-TTLS tunnel. This allows you to retain your existing RADIUS server investment while extending support for the latest Wi-Fi protocols.

Extensive Device Support

In addition to the Wi-Fi protocols PEAP, LEAP, EAP-TLS, and EAP-TTLS, Elektron includes support for basic RADIUS protocols such as PAP and CHAP. With these protocols, Elektron may be used as an authenticator for devices such as VPN concentrators and firewalls, allowing you to centralize your authentication services.
