System Requirements
The Elektron server can run on both Windows and Mac OS X, and supports authentication of users from a wide variety of client platforms. To install Elektron on your Windows server, you will need:
- Windows XP Professional, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, or Windows 7
- 512 MB RAM
- x86 or x64 processor
- 20 MB free disk space
- An ethernet network connection
To install Elektron on your Mac OS X server, you will need:
- Mac OS X 10.4 or later or Mac OS X Server 10.4 or later PowerPC G4 or Intel Core Duo or better processor (Elektron is a Universal Binary)
- 512 MB RAM
- 20 MB free disk space
- An ethernet network connection
Compatible Clients
Elektron implements all major Wi-Fi authentication protocols, allowing it to support nearly every client currently available.
- Window XP (SP2 or later)
- Window Vista
- Window 7
- Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
- Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
- Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
- Linux WPA Supplicant
- Any PEAP, TTLS, or EAP-FAST compatible client with a WPA Enterprise Wi-Fi card
Compatible Access Points
Elektron will work with any WPA Enterprise capable access point. The Wi-Fi Alliance maintains a list of certified products. Nearly every wireless access point made today supports WPA Enterprise.
